Ditto.
Never had any problems with it. We use it in all of our wheelbarrows, mowers and small rubber tired equipment.
I had a bad leak around the rim on one of my castor wheels on my 48" wb. I tried Slime for the first time(hey I'm a poet and don't know it, LOL) and it seems to have worked great so far. It was 8 dollars for a 16 oz. bottle. I think next time I'll buy it in a one gallon container. I found it for about $40.00 in one of my parts magazine.

My Choppers came with a tire sealant in the tires. Are there any other mfg that do this? If not, they should.

The green Slime. Over two years and no leaks.
Slime Get the Super Duty Slime not the regular, It stops holes up to 1/4 inch. It has small pieces of rubber in it.

I thought I read that Hustler does, in the super Z, anyway.
The tire sealant in the Choppers is AmerSeal.

The best I have found is Heavy Duty Slime, available through R&R Products. www.rrproducts.com

Just FYI, there is also another product called "Flat-Gard" which works just as well, but at a fraction of the cost.
LAWNGODFATHER,
What model Exmark do you have that came from the factory with sealant? Your dealer may add it, but as far as I know, the factory fills the tires with air ONLY.

i talked with my lesco mechanic and he said that slime or any other product that you put into the tires to repair or stop leaks will cause my wheels to eventually rust out and have to be replaced, any one have this problem?

i have used slime, but always wanted to try the stuff they sell in Gemplers catalog. It is used in army vehicles and plugs a 1/2" hole. It is to seal for bullets. it cost about 500 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket with pump, and around 350 for just flat stuff. expensive, but really just a day's worth of mowing. Dave g

He ain't wrong! I've had some that turned new wheels to solid rust in about four years!
But I've also had some that kept the rims like new for eleven years.
It has got to say "stops rim rust" or you'll have trouble. When using tire sealant I find the #1 cause of flats is rim rust. The rims just get so rusty they won't hold air.
Some of the stuff sold as tire sealant is nothing more than shredded newspaper and water. Some of the stuff is great and will keep the rims like new and flat free till the tires wear out.

I'll ask what everyone's wondering.
Which brands are safe, is Slime.
Slime is the only brand I've seen for sale 'round here.

David H,

Thanks

I'm looking for an answer to that question too.
I was into my third 5 gallon pail of sealant before I realized there was a problem. By that time I couldn't recall which tire had which brand of sealant. One machine has a dozen tires, and I have four big machines plus a walk behind.
When I have to dismount a tire it's always a suprise, either looks new, or completely rusted and pitted.
I'm not satisfied with the current brand I have, Flat Guard by American Lubricants. Other than that I'm clueless.
The first pail said "stops rim rust" right on the label. The Flat Guard was cheaper, but doesn't protect the rims enough to suit me.
I'm not using anything else until I find something that seals leaks AND preserves the rims. And I really need something because with up to 12 tires sweeping an area I could add "thorn removal" to my list of services.
Does anyone know of the product I'm referring too?
Dave
