I am going to be purchasing a new Trimmer soon. I've always used Straight shaft trimmers, but a lot of people have told me that they like the Curved Shaft models. Just wanted to see your thoughts on what you guys prefer?

Buy another straight shaft they are much better than the curved shaft!

straight shaft. I have seen the curved shafts actually wear out the flexible drive shaft. plus they won't fit inmost trimmer racks and they always felt less heavy duty.

if its for personal home use that curved is fine but not for commercial use....

Ditto. I never see anybody here using curved shafts commercially. We use Echo, but I know guys here that run Stihl and Shinaiwa.

I read on here that "...curved shafts are for midgets and home owners".
I agree.

I had to come back to this topic. Really this is probably the worst question i have read when it come to trimmers. If you use a curved shaft you should look into another line of work..:hammerhead: ..Thank you for your support!!!:clapping:

I hatttttttte straight shaft trimmers, and i don't have a clue why they are so freakin popular on this site.
They're heavier, awkard feeling, and i can stand how the head spins counter clockwise.:dizzy:

But I will give you this, they are nice for sticking under bushes to trim the grass thats hard to get.
