Hey, anybody have an idea on how much I should be willing to pay for a 1992 vermeer LM35 w/ 1025 hrs?...Its got a diesel motor, trencher, vibratory plow, and boring setup (rods and tip and knuckle)?... I found one for $6900 which seems pretty good to me if it was taken care of and is a decent product to start with.

traderonline.com (http://www.traderonline.com)

Check here or do some web searches for used equipment. Off the top of my head doesn't sound bad.

that's where I found it...I also found a ditch witch 255sx w/ 650 hrs for $4000. Its got 4 rods, the onan motor, but its only in fair condition....nds some hyraulic work and tires....definately within my abilities to fix over the winter...

I looked at some auction results and they had multpile case maxi-sneakers that went for $1000. I'm sure the machinens were trashed, but for only $1000 I wouldn't mind throwing it out after 1 season 'cause i'd be able to afford a $5000 machine the next season that might last 2 seasons...and then a $10000 machine that might actually have some trade in value when I go to buy my new machine :-)

Don't do the 255sx as the Vemeer is way more machine. Spend the money up front if your commited and by decent. These things are EXPENSIVE to repair and refurbish.

If you can't justify buying good, rent one as needed until demand says that you can make purchase payments rather than rentals.
