View Full Version : Looking At A Trailer Today

I am probably going to look at a 5x10 trailer today. Its approx. 6-7 years old, has "a little rust," new treated wood floor, drop down gate (thats missing the pins on the bottom), 15 inch tires, and a rubbermaid tool box mounted on the tongue.

When I called, a lady basically told me about it for her son, she claimed that he paid $700 for it and then put $200 into a leaf spring suspension to make it ride smoother. The only thing she did not know is how much weight the axle could hold.

What I am getting at is the asking price is $575 and she said it was somewhat negoitable. The only thing that im concerned about is the "little rust part." If everything looks good, then I thinking maybe offer $500 at the most, hopefully a little less. What do you think? Thanks

-P.S. - Yes I have thought about the possibility of out growing this trailer.

Make sure you check the frame underneath. If there is any rot/cancer rust then that thing may fall apart on you.
