14 HP Kohler wont start when hot

Hello

I got a 14 HP Kohler Command..runs great...
but when u shut it off and wait it bit it wont refire..
no spark..
but if u wait half hour it starts right back up..
all saftey switches disconnected..
its not the wiring...
Could it be the coil????
how much are they and whered be the best place to get one for the best price????
like online???

I agree with leaflawnandlimb, it's definately the coil. I just replaced one on my 14 Kaw for this exact same reason. Mine was $80.00 at the dealer. Just remove the shrouding from the engine and you will see the coil. The air gap is .004" or 10 mm for the new coil.

I tried to remember the air gap from memory, bad idea. My service manual says: .008" to .012"

To the original poster, How did you come to the conclusion that
it would not start due to no spark? I would hate for you to
waste money for no good reason. Even if you were buying the
coil from me, I would ask you why. I spend a lot of my time
talking people out of wasting money, that is probably why I
am broke, but really why do you think it is the coil?
