View Full Version : Gas prices on the rise again??!!
Just curious as to what the price of gas is in your area. Earlier in the year it was really high (around $2.00), but then it dropped to the $1.30 range and stayed there. Well, it has gone right back up to $2.09. This is ridiculous, especially with all this dry weather, the profit margins just aren't where they should be.

Here in oil country, where we are normally lowest in the nation, we are at $1.65, the news says the national average is $1.45 - either they have old numbers or we have some localized gouging of some sort.

Here in the Show Me State, they keep their employees busy raising and lowering the trices. Here lately it has been just raising them. Up to 1.60 now. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!

$1.49 here in CT. Gas has actually gone up an avg of 11 cents across the country. the high competition in CT is bucking the trend and we are going down still. it has about bottomed out though and should be on the rise. hopefully diesel wont go up though, cause my duramax is due in next week.

I never have and never will gripe about the price of fuel. I have a section in my contracts that specifically states that if fuel prices reach a certain limit, then there will be a fuel surcharge added to the monthly bill. As far as the very few clients that I have that are not under contract, I sent out a letter in May's billing package informing them that when a certain threshold is met, there will be a fuel surcharge. It seems to me that instead of complaining about high gas prices and dwindling profits, the COSTS of operations should be passed along to the consumer.....IE your clients.

It went up to $1.90 here for regular. It was $1.80 yesterday. About a month ago it was $1.32, so it make a big jump here.
The wife is on vacation and said gas went up 16 cents in one day in Omaha. Here it was $1.31 Saturday. Today, it's $1.39. Who knows about tomorrow? Good thing is that diesel has stayed $1.44.

Went up almost 30 cents within week and half. 87...$1.68 89...$1.78 diesel around $1.50 Should go down after Labor Day weekend, they are saying reason prices jumped, was because of a large refinery fire last week. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Cleancutdude-
6 bucks a gallon OUCH! Is that US currency prices.
At that rate what does a average lawn mowing go for in Ireland?
I guess I first need to know how big the average lawn is.
Can you make money mowing over there, I hear there is plenty of grass to mow.
BTW gas prices here
Aug 1= 1.32/gal for 87
Aug 28=1.82/gal for 87

Over here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we already had these kind of price hikes. It is now just going down. The cause, all those tree huggers that get these stupid laws passed with out true scientific facts.
He in Ca, MTBE was introduced way before any other part of the country. Guess what, the regulators said this would be able to reduce our smog. Yah it did, but now we're drinking MTBE. It’s contaminating our water supply. Now the want to make ethanol mandatory, but where's the supply?? Translation, major price hikes to be seen. ($2.50 to 3.80)
Paid $1.92/gallon last night for premium in the mowers.
Mid grade was $1.75/gallon last night.
I'm sure as they mysteriously went up before Labor Day, in a week or so they will fall back down.

Regular was $1.29 last week, and is up to $1.79 today.
Buttered Waffle,
What is your fuel price limit?? I am thinking about adding a fuel surcharge to my monthly invoices, if these prices don't come down soon.:( ED

ejk2352,
I set it at 1.50 for regular. If at any time during the month, regular goes above that, it's an automatic surcharge. But you have to set up whatever works for YOU.
