Botched Lawn?

My parents hired our neighbors to do our lawn. I don't know how much they payed for it but from what I can see they did a bad job. The picture above is just an example of what it looks like, there are many gaps in the "pelts" (sorry I don't know what their called). I was just wondering will the grass grow over the gaps? Is there anyway we can fix this?

Zeebz, yep those seams should be tight together on that sod. The pattern they laid it is correct, that is the way it is done. But there should be no large gaps between the sod pieces.
. I suggest that you tell your parents to call them back to fix it right.

I didn't know they even had yards in San Francisco. Just a bunch of lop sided houses -- hah.
