Is the 2001 Kohler 25 still dreaded or has it performed well?

As far as I know all the problems with this engine have been fixed. We have 3 of them and have no problems. I would not be worried about this engine.

havent had any problems with mine yet. only 70 hrs on it though.

My 25hp Kohler has 736hrs no problems so far..knock on wood .I do make sure to change oil and all filters every 25hrs and keep it in the range of 3600 rpm under load hope this helps:blob3:

I did a rebuild at 1000 hours, mine was 3 years old. the kohler people at louisville this year finally admit they had problems. supposedly fixed. will it last as long as a kaw,honda, kubota ? not likely. Dave g
