will an echo trimmer handle fit on a stihl shaft? those low profile looking echo handles look real comfortable, if they do fit, does anyone have one they would part with? thanks for taking the time to read this crazy thread.

I just bought an entire Echo shaft, it came with the handle on it, New, for $30from my dealer. Dont know if it would fit the stihl, but for that price I could barely even ship you my old handle!

well i hardly think it would cost 30 bucks to ship just the handle part, but maybe. anyway you could post an upclose pic. of the handle? and how it attatches? thanks for your reply.

to be honest my guys as well as myself prefer the larger handle to the low pro stihl handle.

They are comfortable, and very vibration free. I run an Echo. If the shaft size is the same, I don't see why they wouldn't fit, as it is just a clamp-on affair. Even if the Stihl shaft were smaller, I'd think one could shim. Larger, you're probably out of luck. Not that expensive, new.

I removed that "huge" oversized handle from my Kawi trimmer when I bought it and replaced it with the Echo handle. The handle cost me $24 from my dealer. I thought that was kinda high but it is the most comfortable handle I've ever used.

Yes, the echo handle fits on the stihl shaft. any echo dealer can look up the part for you. After using echo for years and then getting a stihl trimmer, there was no way I was going to use that hard plastic handle...

I can't help but be amused by this thread. You know, the rest of an Echo trimmer works pretty good also. :)

I couldnt agree more. My only issue with the echo is the trigger. I was constantly breaking them.

srm 260 is a better machine then my fs90 anyway. I think even with my trigger issue I would still buy one in a heartbeat. the fs90 is the biggest piece of crap I have.....
