I'm new to business and need to pick up as many customers as quickly as possible but without undercutting everyone else too heavily. I was planning to start this out part time on the side but now I have no choice as I have been laid off from my other job that was paying me $17/hr on Friday. Anyways here they are, I haven't decided whether or not to use full color on them though because it seems kind of pricey everywhere except here http://www.clubflyers.com/. Has anyone used them before?

Looks good. Go with gotprint. 4x6 post card is about 3.5 cents a piece if you order 10,000.

not bad. fairly generic. loose the addy on the biz card unless its a commercial location where customers can walk in. have the same tele # on both cards. id drop the 15% discount offer and tell the potential customer why they should switch to you other than price. lawnboys that dont know crap use discount offers like that. who cares what your mower looks like. some potential clients will see that pic and think "i dont want that big @$$ mower tearin up my lil yard. K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid. if you put a pic on the flyer... use something more catchy than an ugly @$$ xmark. go full color. who cares about price. how much cash a company is willing to drop on ads tells a customer how dependable theyll be. we spend $10k a year on advertising.

but then what do i know.

technically you should ask permission prior to using the pic or at least not show any logos. at least thats how we had to do it back when i did tv commercials. however, i doubt a mower company is going to give a **** about some small time lawnboy advertising their mower more than his services on his flyers.

now the question is... why do you want to advertise someone elses product over your services? are they splitting the cost of the flyers with you?

Atleast get a picture of a clear mower if you're going to. That's a horribly blury picture.

Anyone want to give a suggestion on some other picture to use or something else to put in it's place?

have a cartoon of a lawn mower fighting some grass and the mower kicking ass. or put a cape on and be like yard man. skys the limit.

Would that really work better? I would think that people might think I'm some high school kid if I did something like that.

true story I went to college in statesboro,ga down by savanna. these guys from a local car lot did a funny commercial spoofing the karate kid. they became local celebrities. sometime people crave that difference. commercials were so good I wanted to go get a car. lol. maybe it was the small town atmosphere.

do not use a 15% off, use cash! in the past we have used 20$ cash card which they usually just ask for the $20 credit to be applied to there bill. this is hook and bait for getting new customers they hate % off, i mean what if i gave 10% off to you, my lawn is $20 to cut, wow $2 where is the savings? whats $2 these days, use money ppl love it...

or use first cut free! they love that to
not trying to anger anyone who uses % off but it kills your marketing

yea, comming from the computer field, I managed to become a MCSE, = Microsoft engineer, as such I "we" can use there clip art and there logo's,
we got into this one time with a guy who was NOT a MCSE he was using some of there clip art, he altered it and then used it in some advertisement,
computer type ad's, I was surprised he didnt get any written permission
he just should have knowned better,

Dont think it ever became an issue, like you stated why advertise for someone else...

thanks for sharing

try this. but remember no one can 2nd guess the public, what works this time or for this area is just the crazyness of marketing.

I always went for the KISS method,,,,,,
