how fast does pachasandra spread

If planted on a slope part shade kind of dry area spaced 1 foot apart planted now. How long till it fills in the area. Will the depth of mulch make a difference between plants.

At a foot apart, it will take several seasons to fill in nicely. Keep it well watered and fertilized to hasten its growth. Pachysandra spreads from it's roots so for that reason I don't care for a heavy layer of mulch. Actually, I prefer no mulch.

Yes, mulch gets in the way of spreading...I prefer peat mixed with loam.
I always plant it in clumps because individual plants take a long time to fill in. As Mike said, fertilizing and watering speed it up.
