Well is that 35 for 1/4 acre lots and the 60 per acre ? Are people telling you your to high ? What size lots are you doing, are most of the property's open. 35 is a good minimum to charge for for things under 1/4 acre, but if there are 4 other guys in the neighborhood doing them for 25 you may have to drop your price to get more work.

What I do is allways bid high, you can always come down, but it's almost impossable to go up,

you guys are gonna have to learn to talk,

Everyone has grass, if they dont "living in an appartment" then they know someone who does,

ASK EVERYONE U SEE,

tell them who you are and what you do. Go sell your self, go ASK..... ASK to see the manager in every store you go into.

I would bet that in a course of a day, "average" your in contaic with at least 100 people,,,,,

How many of them have you talked to and asked ?

Don't ever think that you are bidding too high. If you do good work, people will pay you more. You don't want to work for cheap customers, lowball and people will think they can take advantage of you. Stick to your guns when it comes to bidding.

Awsome quote from landscaper: "I wish I had a nickle for everytime I was turned down on a bid."

Keep doing good work and you will grow, talk to people and get a professionally made sign (they can make magnetic ones that you can take off and on for about $50-75) on the side of your truck, it lets people know that you are "open for business". Good luck

Let your work sell itself...If you have at least one nicely manicured/green healthy yard spend a lil more time on it nice straight lines and such a nieghbors will notice. Most customers you want hear from word of mouth. If you get a nieghbor of a client give the client a lil discount, word will spread and be consistent with your service if its weekly do it on the same day ever week if you can. This is my first year in the biz full time, I started last Aug. after leaving the Marines. Get some nice looking cards made too and pass them out like candy at halloween, try to find an irrigation company that doesnt deal with mowing and have them refer you to their clients its a lifesaver when theres a drought. Good luck
