48 demo with 14hp?

Hello again, I am going to buy a demo 48" with a kawi engine that the dealer said is a 14 hp. could you please tell me if this is a last year model? Its a metro HP

The easiest way to tell what year the machine was made is by the serial number. For yours and everybody else's reference I'll break down the last few years serial ranges.

1997: 130,000-159,999
1998: 160,000-189,999
1999: 190,000-219,999
2000: 220,000-259,999
2001: 260,000-319,999

I show that 1999 was the last year that we used the 14hp Kaw. As far as the unit, other than engine options, the 99's are the same as the 2001. Starting with 2002, the Metro HP will only be offered with ECS handles. Before someone asks, the answer is yes, there will be a ECS handle kit available, price and time TBA.
