Mike, have you looked at Pro Landscape? It is definitely not in the price range of office store software, but it is professional quality software for professional landscape designers. You can delete, or copy any features already existing and add plants, hardscaping structures and even additions to the home. If you are looking for an inexpensive program, sorry, I don't know of any with the features you are looking for.

Is that software, Pro Landscape, available only through them do you know of?

Yes, i have vol.12 and it is a direct deal thru Drafix. They now have vol. 13 i havent updated. Very good program, but it wont make a designer out of you. Thats where guys like Kirk go to work. I use the imaging editor mainly, even on simple new yard installs just showing the grass has landed me the job.

Creter, you can find alternate sources that do sell Pro Landscape, besides individuals, I have never seen it for less than they sell direct. They do discount at trades shows, like the upcoming PANTS next week in Atlantic City. If design is what you do and you have the time to learn new software, Pro Landscape is great software for drawing and presentation.

Thanks Kirk! Even at regular price quoted on the website I was seeing the potential for this software's customer reach and if it could be obtained cheaper, even better. This software is definitely on my radar!

Creter, if you're seriously considering Pro Landscape, we have version 12 that we're looking to sell (for less than retail price). We've gotten out of the landscaping side of things so no longer have a need for it - but I can tell you that it really can help sell jobs if you know how to put together a design. I've checked with the guys at Drafix and the licenses are transferable. Let me know if you're interested - I'm in St. Charles.

does anyone know of a software that allows you to move through the seasons?
i.e. showing early spring blooms, spring blooms, summer blooms, late summer blooms?

Does anyone else have a version of the Pro Landscape for sell?? Even the older versions would be great for me. Just let me know if someone has a version they need to get rid of!

Drafix was at the PANTS show in Atlantic City this past week and had an outstanding price on version 13 and all upgrades. If design is part of your business, you would be very wise to pursue a program like Pro Landscape to allow your client to understand your ideas and vision for their property. The 3D imaging feature will sell more work and better work and the planning mode allows you to easily make changes, additional copies and simple to understand planting and hardscape plans.
One user told me how he will send a crew out with the plants and a foundation image and tell the crew leader to make the planting look like the imaging. A lot easier than attempting to measure and figure out what is what when you have an image.
