Has it been discontinued? Did not see it on the Hustler site as an option.

We currently do not offer a diesel in our mid mount Z chassis, as in we are not producing them at this moment.
There are still come CAT units available though, check with your dealer to see if he can get one from his regional warehouse.

Now all we need is a 28hp Vertical Diesel, shaft driven deck, much better drive belt/system and it would be the best mower in the world!

Oh, and bring back the short wheel base!

Another tip would be to put breaks on the front casters!

I live in hope! lol

The new engine is a 4 cylinder Kubota diesel. Not sure on the hp. Don't ask me how I know.

Wishful thinking on the part of the person that told you that...
I can for sure tell you we are not working on a diesel with a 4 cylinder Kubota in it.

hello, creating the perfect diesel mouse trap ahhhh !!!

deck drive hydraulic with option of belt drive dealer option [fit in field ]
[if u underdesign a shaft drive system it becomes costly]

maybe a top mounted radiator

2x engine sizes fitted to any combination

different rear wheel side to side measurement to allow for trim ability on different size decks

Compact unit and to a lesser degree try to restrict weight to a reasonable level 4 a diesel anyway

Coolers every where at least huge in size

52--66 suitable design

make the 66 design as compact as u can.

it appears the perfect mouse trap may be awhile ???

I drove a new Super Z 54" deck with a Yanmar diesel engine a couple of days ago in Gainesville, TX. Dealer didn't have any literature on it, nor was he sure of H.P. or displacement. After talking to his rep, thought it was app. 750CC displacemnt & 21 HP. Let us know the plan for the larger decks & size of Yanmar engines that will go with them.

It is a 750cc Yanmar vertical shaft unit, limited availability at this time.
The only decks on this unit will be 54", side and rear discharge.
It is also a Hustler Z not a Super Z.
No other Yanmar units planned that I am aware of.

Just the ones you already found and posted in the commercial forum.
Yanmar doesn't publish a hp rating, so I don't have any info there.
This unit in the side discharge version is a 54" XR-7

We wont be building them again until late fall and I don't have any MSRP pricing at this time.

1369

seems like a lot a extra weight added for a motor that only weighs 213 lbs.

you went from 1180 lbs to 1369. where did the extra 200lbs come from?

MSRP quoted to me is $12,900, with a sell price of $10,750 for 54" side discharge.

This engine is rather large in comparison to the air cooled unit.
You have a radiator and anti freeze also.
Then just look at the unit, we boxed in the engine for noise reduction and air flow, this all adds weight.
