How many of you guys are service only companies, I mean you don't own installation equipment and the majority of your work is service repairs and winterization/back-flow testing?
Also, do you stay very busy?
This is something that I am thinking of doing part-time. I work every three days and have plenty of time to service systems and do the blow outs and back-flow testing in the spring/fall. Plus it keeps me from have alot of overhead in equipment.

Yup, myself and two employees. No installs since '02. And usually can't keep up on calls until about August. Then busy as heck again Oct 1 thru Nov 15. Absolutely love it.

There are a few "service only" companies around here. I can't figure out how they make money, but the guys that are doing it seem to do ok. I'd love to sub out my service stuff just so I could focus on installs.... go figure...

I have one landscape company that subs almost all their repairs to me. they take care of some warranty repairs, but we do most of it.

Hank takes more of the crap service work than I ever did..he's younger.
In his defense, he's learned to walk (or drive) when it becomes crazed.
