Just got one for my 2006 F350 Power Stroke Diesel. I have a 40 gal tank. I was wondering fist is this good for my Motor, Transmission? Second will it increase or decrease my fuel milage? I am only getting around 300 miles per tank with the downloader. I haven't checked it without yet. Friends of mine say they get around 25 miles per gallon but im getting less than half of that. I'm always hauling a landscape trailer so I have it in tow/haul a lot. Also the downloader is set to tow/economy with the shift pattern firm. I only have 4600 miles on the truck. Should I be using the Tripple Dog downloader? Any Suggestions on how get better fuel milage? Is 300 miles per 40 gal tank average miles for this vehicle? Sorry for all the Q's but i'm knowlegeable in this area. Tanks for the help

Any extreme upgrade can do severe damage to both the motor & the tranny. I would recommend having the tranny beefed up a bit before being very hard on it.

I guess I should teach what I preach since I have a Quadzilla Race Module on my Dodge. I try to baby it, but man is that power addicting!

As for mileage, it is a Ford. What'd you expect?

That mileage sucks if you are getting 300 miles per 40 gallons of fuel your mileage would be 7.5mpg i cant believe that is correct.

As for the downloader, they can be good and bad just dont run the most agressive progam they have for your diesel and you will be ok. I would run level 1 or 2 but your transmission will have a tough time dealing with the power.

Do you have an exhaust gas temperature gauge? If not, you could literally be burning your motor up and not know it. EGT's over 1350 pre-turbo will drastically shorten your engines life, and if you get it hot enough can burn pistons and valves.

You dont have a 40 gallon fuel tank, its 38 gallon at most if you have a long bed. I get right about 11 mpg with mine pulling trailers day in and day out. Thats with it tuned since the motor isnt even broke in yet. If you really want a diesel truck that will get awesome mileage, get a Cummins.

No it didn't come with a gauge.
The dealership told me it was a 40 gal tank but 38 seems much more like it.
I have a 9 ft rack dump

My buddy has a 2005 Ford F-350 Crew Cab with the 6.0 in it and his only has a 28Gallon tank!!! We do a lot of long camping trips together and it is frustrating having to stop all the time to fill up when he is near empty.

Oh yea....your Ford warranty is now toast!!! You are now your own warranty center. With all of the problems that they have been having with the 6.0s and Navistar they are looking real close at warranty situations.

Honestly, your not going to get that great of mileage until that 6.0 is broke in. I have 75k on mine and its still not broke in!
