Question for the ford guys

Hey,

First off this is not a ford vs dodge. I have so far had dodge with my company and it has been great however I am looking for an upgrade/plow truck at a reasonable price. I have run across a 99 F350 diesel with 113,000 original KM. Can anyone tell me if this is the 7.3? Is there anything I should know about the 1999 trucks? It seems like a great deal, they are asking 19500 CDN for it. Although older then I wanted it seems to have low KM and be in very good shape (possibly a farmers truck).

yes it is the 7.3...we have a 99 dump and everything is holding up ok, it only had 70K on it though. The only real problem we had is the e-brake cable kept binding up and the shift linkage got tough but they are all fixed now

Learn how to replace the cam sensor and keep one in the truck. Other than that, it should be great.:)

Keep an eye on the oil pan, don't know for sure what they are made out of, but it's not steel. Salt will kill them ! One of the LCO in the same complex I'm in just replaced the pan in a 99 F450 with a 7.3. And will replace the one on his 2000 F450 just to be safe some time this fall.
You have to disconnect the Trans and raise the engine just to replace the pan. Over a grand in just labor.......

price seems high on the truck, maybe consider driving to the US to get one
