yes i to get sick and tired of these posts. i realize most posts have been repeated, but some are just rediculous. you could search this topic and read for days probably. im sure you already know that all those cmmercial mowers are good and will last many years and cut very good. pick a dealer that treats you good and is close by, and go buy your stinking mower. everyone on here will like one of those mowers, they are all tried and tested good mowers.

Exactly. If your toro works then you should probably look at toro. Exmarks are similar so I would look at them to. You have to try everything and pick the one that will best suit your needs. Demo every ztr you can get your hands on.

just look at everyone showing off thier equipment in thier "signature" and youll see what alot of people use. the majority of professional lcos will use exmark, scag, hustler, bobcat, toro, insert any other commercial mower brand, here________. have fun.

None of my brands are listed so I didnt vote. But the number ONE thing is local dealers, and the quality of them. Here, we have Dixon, Grasshopper, Exmark, Hustler and Toro. About 10 miles away we have Dixie Chopper and Walker, and about 50 miles away we have a GREAT Walker dealer and then multiple others that sell literally every brand out there. In my town, about a third of the LCOs run Walkers it seems (most buy from the great dealer in Wichita), a third run Dixon, then the rest run Grasshopper or Hustler. Very few of anything else really. It all boils down to what you have access to, and where your best dealer is. Yea, our good Walker dealer is 50 miles away, but they have such great service, they sell LOTS of mowers to guys in my town.
Second, you need to look at your need. Do you need to mulch, discharge or bag? Do you need in and out fast or can you afford to spend a little more time at each yard? Do you need the best suspension on the market, or would you rather save the money and get something else? Reason there are so many Walker here is 99% of everyone bags everything. Walker is THE machine for bagging. All other brands seem to have fairly decent catchers I guess. Do you need a machine 72" wide, or can do you have lots of 3 and 4 foot gates?
All in all, NO ONE on here can answer these questions but YOU. Even someone on here from your own area is gonna have different needs then you. Friend of mine here needs a big mower because a lot of his lawns are quite large, in areas on the edge of town, plus a couple HOA's. All my mowing is in town on your standard 10,000 SF city lot lawn. His main mower is a 61", mine is a 42", and we are both running probably the best mower for our operations. What I am getting at, is needs vary greatly even across town, so there is no way in hell someone sitting here half way across the country from you can tell you what you need. Going by brand is dumb, going by features needed on YOUR lawns is what you need to look for.
Wow, that got kinda LONG:hammerhead:

i agree, i have mostly all acres. no fences. i coulld manage a 72" but its kinda bulky.....
and i was lookking at ferris cause i have a lot of bumpy terrain and everyother mower doesnt, except for those forks on the hustler( and i dont even know if those work).
my closest dealer is toro.
but all the guys there are dic@s.
and then i have exmark, wwhich had the nicest and fastest guys.
they open up earlier than any other mower shop in the county.
and then ferris, the dealer support is CRAP. and yeah...
and the hustler dealer support is around average. little far away. about 15 miles.
so i guess its down to exmark!! what do you think??

Dillan I am 14 also it always comes down to dealers so I would buy the exmark also I think that a 52inch would be better for you since it will be your main mower. Thanks

Thats a lot of hp for a 52" deck. Why not 25-22hp?
DillonsLawnCare
08-03-2007, 07:03 PM
well, for that specific model, thats the only engine it offers.
but, i could go with the lazer z hp with a 23hp kawi, and a 56" Triton deck for the same price, but the hp is a little less commercial, but i think it would go fine for me, i dont know???!?!?!?!

I would stick with a 52 inch because the extra horsepower will help you out my scag tiger cub with the 48 inch deck uses every ounce my kawasaki 19 horse moter has I would stick with horsepower. thanks
