Need Help!!!! I have scag tiger with 25 hp kawi with 800 hours on it. Lately it has been blowing black smoke when engaging blades and reving the engine while transporting.Air cleaner is good, oil is about 40 hrs on it,I bought new plugs today. Is it poss.a carb issue??? It is also sputtering lately also. Fuel filter looks good.Any ideas???????? Thanks:dizzy:

I believe if the float valve was not shutting the fuel off properly the engine would flood while sitting/over night ?

When was the last valve adjustment performed ? Should be done every 300 hrs. per the manual.

Also, There are two different air filters for this engine depending upon if it has a internally vented or externally vented carb. The filters look the same but the micron rating of the paper is different. Using the wrong one or a aftermarket not identified for the proper carb could cause a rich/poor run situation.

If your carb has a gold plate on the top held with three screws you need part # 11013-7027 air filter, With no plate on top part # 11013-7024.

Did Tigers have 25hp Kawasaki's? Is this air cooled or water cooled? At 800 hours, check for a worn throttle shaft.

What are the specs for a valve adjustment on a Kawasaki fh721?
