Toro Zmaster 222 purchase?

My teenage son is starting to mow lawns in the evenings, weekends, etc. I'm looking for a decent ZTR for him. I have the opportunity to purchase a Z222 from a local toro dealer. I think it was only in production for one year 1996 or 1997. The dealer told me it was virtually indestructable. However, he is the "dealer". I'd like some of your opinions. It has faded paint, a cracked seat, but only 600 hours. It seems to run well and does not smoke. I think I can get it for about $1500. Do you think this would be a good choice of mower and a good price?

I'm not sure what it's worth but apparently there are some lawnsite members that own or have owned the Z222. Maybe they can be of assistance. I did a search for the Z222 to see what it looked like when I found them...
