so today i was mowing around, and out of no where the ground just gave way and sank, and boom the mower was stuck, had to yank it out with the truck. weird part was when i looked in the hole it seemed to go for like 10 more feet, not down, but across, like under the rest of the grass, seemed like something was digging underthe grass, and made it collapse with the weight of the mower.

had the same thing happen to me in a customers back yard. Had to bring my ATV in on my trailer, through their gate in and pull my ZTR out with a tow strap. They say it used to be a POND.

yeah i was lucky i was able to get the truck in no problem, so it was fast and easy to pull it out, but it still sucked.

Lol, that's weird. Some kind of sink-hole, sometimes builders bury tree stumps. Then when they disintagrate it leaves a void in the ground. Add some weight to the top of it and presto u have a mower in a hole. Not sure if this is what happened, but just a theory. Hope the customer wasn't home, that would have been pretty embarrassing pulling you're mower out of a hole while the customer watches.

Whoops. I can't say that I havn't done the same thing with a 72" Scag, only both rear wheels sank.

Dang thats one burly looking mower. i have never got a Z in a hole but I have gottem them stuck a bunch of times. Thats pretty weird, so you have no idea what made the hole? what did the home owners say?

looks like you got hung up gold por done that be for but cemetery mowing with old graves letting go lol

haha i dunno if they were home or not, they might have been watching me, lol, and i never told the homeowner because the yard sucks to begin with, in that same area of grass their are like 5 more holes much much bigger then this one, all in the same area, so im assuming that this is a reacurring problem, lol so i didnt even bother to tell them.

They might have had a septic tank that was never filled in right... I've seen that happen in my area were guys fill tanks with sand and over time the sand washes away and there you go with your machine in the first weak spot....

Same thing happened in my backyard except my dad stepped right into the hole which went on a steep angle but not straight down and endless as far as I'm concerned bcause I stuck a 12 ft. pole down it and didnt reach the bottom.
