I need new tires for my 99 Ford F350. Running 265 75 16 now. Want to go with a tire that will give me little more height but not width. Any suggestions. Thinking about BFG all terrains. What size do you think I should go with. Need to be load range E. Thanks :usflag:

is it 4x4? if so 285/75/16 will be taller but not wider.

fyi the 265, 285, 295 number is the tread width in millimeters. The 75 is the sidewall height, as a percent of tread width. A 285/75 tire is taller and wider than a 265/75. A 265/85 (if they make one?) would be the same width as 265/75, but taller.

That said, the 285/75 looks good on the Super Duty trucks I have seen. I'm on the fence about going to that size next time around, just because it means extra rotating mass which means it is harder to speed up or slow down. As many folks as I've seen that have them, it is probably not a big deal.

i do minimum of 315's or 35's on all mine. never affected performance, and maybe 1/2-1 mile per gallon less. and all the 295's ive seen are taller than 285's and skinnier
