In the State of Texas you have to be licensed to provide weed treatment and fertilizer. We currently do not have anyone that works for us, including myself, that has their license. However, we do offer it to our customers but outsource it to a licensed company. This company sends me an itemized invoice, once a month. I pay them and turn around and charge each one of my customers that they serviced.

You need a license in Ga. also. Contact your county extension agent to get details on how to get legal. He can also make recommendations on what products to use. By the way, where in Ga. are located?

Not to far away over here in Winder, GA...actually my neighbor is from Snellville, and we designed a large subdivision near there as well...(Georgetown Commons).

I agree with this.
Also, start here at this site to get your study material and find out where to test and get your license...

It doesn't matter what state you are from, you have to be certified. It is a Federal Law, not a state law. The confusion comes from the fact that the federal govornment tasks the states with enforcing the law. Every State has to adhere to the Federal Law, but can tighten the restrictions if they choose to do so.

Yeah, they do. But you'd better get them while they're still answering the phones! I think Deere's going to pull the plug on their extra curricular activities like licensing seminars, etc.

Just like JoeinJasper said, contact your county extension office, or agent, for testing dates and sites. Tell them 'what' you want to be certified in: Turf pesticides vs. tree & shrub insect, disease control vs. bareground vegetation, etc, so they can steer you toward the right study materials. You then pay for the liscense, which then allows them to send you the study materials. Then study! Often, there are state sponsored web sites too that can help you.
In Ohio, if you fail the test, you can keep taking it over and over until you pass it, after a specific waiting time in between tests. You do not have to pay another lisence fee, though! And the nice thing is that, later, if, for example, you want to expand into Tree and Shrub, mole control, etc, you can take additional tests and add 'categories' of certification onto your license without having to pay any extra amount yearly for a lisence than you would with just one category, say 'turf'. Good Luck! :waving:

Naw. Just study well, and get a good night's sleep  before hand, so you don't have to take it twice.

Just curious, because I do the same thing, but what if any do you mark it up, 10%, 20%, 30% or what?
Thanks
