Winterizing

I know that we are not up to winterizing yet but i would like to know what has to be done to winterize a Snapper 36"

I like to do an oil change and fill the tank to the absolute top with stabilized fuel. Don't leave ANY airspace for moisture in the air to condense.
Some prefer to drain the fuel totally.
Do any other needed maintenance that you don't want to do in the Spring when you really need the unit to be ready

We generally don't winterize our mowers down here since they'll usually get to run at least once or twice a month in the dead of winter.

But what Bill said is exactly how I do my stuff like the bed edger, aerator, etc. and this year when I pulled them out for the first time, they all fired up on the first or second pull.:)

I might add-
On single cylinder engines, rotate the engine until it starts the compression stroke. This "seals" the cylinder from the atmosphere and insures the valves are both closed, relieving pressure on the springs and preventing them from "hanging open".
