I'm not sure that I understand the theory behind wiring from the top???

It is nothing more than for ease of installation. It is the same transformer/core we use in every Multi Tap we make (SS Models). The idea stemmed from years of looking for a spool of wire to sit on, or not being able to se the lug screws at night while adjusting voltages.

Features & Benefits:
1. Industry First top mounted installation capability
2. Industry First replaceable secondary circuit fusing feature,
the secret to customizing safety for each circuit allowing
fusing based on actual amperage load or wire size not a
preset amperage maximum.
3.Industry First hidden wire chase allowing trouble-free
entrance and access to multiple low voltage cables
4. Line voltage wiring compartment for hard wire capability
5. A spacious work compartment
6. Oversized colored terminal lugs ideal for multiple connections at each tap.
7. Snap-in photocell, Timer, Automated module, and Sequencer ready

Available Sizes

Joey,

I'm trying to see where I would be bring my low-voltage cable in at. Are there knockouts on the side, and how big are they? I hardwire alot of my transformers, so the open architecture is a nice touch.

doesn't heat rise and won't it fry your timer which sits on top of the core?

No Pete. That is something we test in R&D. It does run slightly warmer than a standard but nothing substanial.

Sean,

You run the cable/conduit up a rear chase compartment. It is kind of hard to see. I will try and get some better photos of that. As far as knockouts are concerned there is a 1/2" and 3/4" knockout on each side of the can that are capped with rubber plugs for easy access.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I like the fact that the top opens up allowing us now to have more room to work in. I know it sounds tedious but now you have more space to have slack in your wire to mark your wires with colored tape, tags or whatever preference you have. Great design!

Joey,

Looks pretty interesting. Can you believe that I have never used a Unique transformer. I use a lot of Vista transformers. How about sending me one of these babies to try out?? Hmmmmm???

Joey, I usally install mutiple transformers on my jobs and all connect from a central gutter via flex. Will the I Force accept a 3/4 flex connector in the internal chase?
