View Full Version : New to Biz , buying EQ & 150 customers

Im trying to get to my 10th post so I can priv message a mod (1majortom).

Im new to the LC biz & this site but in the process of buying Equipment , trailer , truck & 150 customers off of a friend that Iv know 4ever. I have been working with him for the last month & until the season ends to get familar with everything (equipment & customers).

He has been doing this for 20 yrs , since he was 15, now he's ready to move on. He declares a nice amount of money & All equipment is within a year and a half old , not including truck.
3 Self propelled (larger) walk behinds (cant remember the name)
4 WW (Stihl)
3 Blowers (stihl)
Trailer (brand new)
Truck (older but runs gr8t)

10% down now and the rest infull by a certain date next yr , having papers drawn up.

It will be my dad , brother and myself working , Im looking to add atleast 25+ more customers for next year

Finding alot of gr8t info on this site , thx to everyone.

All info ,hints or tips are welcomed :)

you may wanna take all the equip. in to get it serviced before u start cutting grass. JMO

Looked over his last 5 years of tax returns on the biz plus I know alot of the accounts just from the area we live in. He went high ,I went low and we met in the middle, like anyother deal. His biz has grown by word of mouth only , he has never advertised , so Im thinking with some advertising I can add a few more customers . I have 15 new customers already and I havnt even put the word out yet cause the deal isnt done yet. Im shooting for 50 new customers.
