ya thanks, i like running the older dump, its a 89 ( bought it for $4000 with a brand new motor/ brakes and exsaust)...im buying another 89 dump this fall, but this one will proubly be a little nicer.

60 YRDS of loam will be getting brought in in 8 YRD loads and its going to being spot dumped, so as of know there will be 3 or 4 of us spreading it by hand, and if we decide to get alot more maybe well bring in the skidsteer.

the stumps were about 200 / 250 pounds each

we used a 20 inch stihl sportsman

loam - is screened dirt -- alo of time they will mix in manure ... in this caes it will have it in it.

Are you saying that you have a skid steer, but you'd rather spread it by hand, or you'd have to rent the skidsteer?

You could spread the piles a lot quicker with that mini and the backfill blade than 4 guys could by hand.

Whether you own or rent the machine, it's gotta be more cost effective to more 3 tri-axles of loam with a machine than by hand. 60 yd3 of loam can be moved and graded in about 1/2 day with a skid.

ended up getting 50 YRDS of screened loam - came in truck loads of 8 YRDS, 3 guys spread pile before the next load came. took us 6 hrs to spread the 50 yrds, and subed-out a compnay to haul in the loam---100 pounds of seed / and 50 pounds of fert. job's finally DONE!

josh1981 whats a stihl sportsman? -->

Stihl sportsman's competition anniversary 20inch saw ( it was for some anniversary of Stihl, it's a big saw - its nice ).

Nice work, I like how you left some elevation to it, and not just flat area for the seed. What kind of skid steer do you run?
