Dogwood tree dying

I've got multiple dogwood trees in my yard. Unfortunately, one of the seems to have some disease or rot that is slowly killing branches. I live in Atlanta, GA area. I took some pictures. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can treat it with to save the tree, or is it just getting too old?

The two pctures posted look like wounds or bad pruning cuts way back when the tree was young. It appears the tree did a OK job, not great, at compartmentalizing the wounds. Post some zoomed out pics also.
