View Full Version : Hedge trimmers????

My current hedge trimmer has taken a dive. It's a Craftsman, but worked well while it worked. Anyways, I have to buy a new one now and had a couple of questions.

1. What is up with the one sided trimmers. Seems to me the more expensive trimmers are one sided. Now maybe it is just because I have always used double sided trimmers that a single side would not be as efficient.

2. I know I could a 100 different answers, but I will ask it anyways. What is a good brand and model? I don't want to spend a ton on a new trimmer seeing it is not a huge part of my business. The machine will probably only be run 10-15 hours per year.

Any info would be great.

Or anyone have a used one they want to sell?

Are you looking for recommendations for commercial or homeowner brands? And what is your budget?

I really like my Redmax CHT2200 - cuts well and lightweight. :usflag:

That is good to know. I went to look at some stihls and echos last night and they were heavy. I would not want to have to make any long reaches with them.

i have a echo 1500 and like the way it cuts and is fairly light. I also have shindaiwas(30''ers-single sided) and love them. they are my primary trimmers because it is less strain on my back for bending over and gan get a more even cut on larger bushes.
i have ran stihl and hate them, just like everything else of theirs they dont last long and become hard to start. Plus, you cant beat echo's 5 year warranty.
