Just got the truck a few days ago...gas GUUUZZZZLLLEERR!!! I think i have a whirlpool in my gas tank. Next year i'm going to upgrade to a 16 ft trailer b/c i am likely going to add a quickie 32 and as you can see i have absolutely no room left on the ole 12 footer.:usflag:

Very nice. What kind of walk behind is that? Can't tell from the pic.

just an old clunker murray someone gave a couple of years ago...the old man neglected the heck out of it..i cleaned it up real good, changed oil and filter, now it cranks up on the first pull..so maybe not such a clunker?

Does that trailer fish tail going down the road? Too much weight behind the axle. Nice equipment and truck. My soon to be father in law has one and the truck has a good amount of power empty, probably pulls pretty decent too.

Nice setup!

I was thinking about adding a toobox in the same location...do you ever have clearence issues with your box mounted on the tongue?

BigLag

never had any problems with the trailer fishtailing(but i never go over 60mph, mostly in town driving) although it is alot of weight back there(thats the only way they'd both fit). my old truck strained to pull this weight, this one pulls it like its not even there. As far as the toolbox goes, there is a clearance issue, but only if jack knifed. If that toolbox was about 3 inches shorter in either direction, it would not be an issue at all. but like i said, only if jack knifed.

I got a couple of those "old klunker" murreys, both hi wheelers(steel spokes) with quantem 3.5hp Briggs motors on them. Paid 25 for one about 14years ago & the other 10 bux for the motor (exhaust valve seat came loose & wedged the valve open...easy fix) & 5 bux for another hi wheeler deck -motor. That was 11-12 years ago. I trade out using both around the yard(homeowner). Both smoke some at start up BUT both are still running :)

Don't complain on gas, it is gonna get worse soon, crude is pushing $82 as of today! What is your mpg on that v8 titan?

Smart man mounted that spare on that trailer.
Not sure if it came with it, but mine didn't...

Oh yeah yeah, let me guess, some hurricane wiped out a refinery...
Which, if there are only 3 refineries in the whole world, that sure is odd there is one in texas where hurricane Katrina struck last year, and the other is in mexico where it just hit... Wonder where the third one is, guess we'll find out next year.

MPG is too early to tell for sure, i only have about a hundred miles on it so far, but the gauge is saying about 11 mpg and have been driving like a grandpa. I went to a titan forum to see what everyone else is getting and they're averaging between 14-17. if i can get 16 i'll be happy.

BigLag

scag is 52 turf tiger with 23 kohler with about 1500 hours and running like a champ! Hustler is 42 mini fastrak with only about 75 hours, its small but it cuts some pretty grass.

My 460 gas engine gets 10 with no load and around 7 pulling. 13 with it would be a blessing.

the diesel truck gets around 13 pulling the tractor and around 16 with no load

Hey Top, I heard on the news today that the reason for the increase was not for hurricanes but for ANTICIPATED hurricanes!!! Good news though...those three refineries will soon be cranking out the winter blends which are more cost effective...yeah...oh BTW way, the Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0 gets around 8mpg towing and 14 empty....for only a few dollars more, you too can help feed a starving towel head :) HAHAHAHA...no auto edit on that one!

Nice setup....you'll enjoy the Titan.
I have an '04 Titan SE King Cab and the thing is amazing on power.
I pull a 16' enclosed trailer full of mowers and it has no problem.

Is that zinc plated trailer? I have never seen one like that in the States. It looks cool though. Mostly, older model of boat trailer in the 80' use zinc plating in the US.

That truck you have vikings is very sought after in the states.

Because its a gas guzzler? It's good in the summer but in the winter I drive a 4x4 because that sierra is useless even with winter tires and sand bags.

I do like driving it though because it has lots of room. In my Ford Ranger 4x4 I feel all closed in on.

It is a very reliable truck. More reliable than newer half ton trucks.

About the only thing on those that give any kinds of issues is intake gaskets. (starts leaking coolant at the back of the intake) and the fuel pumps.

If you put a fuel pump in it only use a GM pump. the aftermarket pumps only last about 30,000 miles. the GM ones usually at least give you 90,000 to 100,000

Had lots of problems at first, I bought it 2nd hand. Heater went, Power steering went, U joints, a door lock but since I fixed it, everything it's going pretty good. Burns no oil and it has over 300,000 kilometres on it. Can't tell I'm pulling a trailer and it's basically pretty cheap to fix.

With the newer ford I have problems that I don't really understand like air sensors and fuel things, crap like that and its expensive to fix lol.

Wow!! I bet your fuel bill each month is pretty high.

highest fuel bill i have had yet is around 1,400.

But granted that was last month and I grossed 14,000. My fuel bill is usually 10-15% of my gross.
