How do you quote only part of a post?

I was wondering how i can quote part of a post and still have the posters name appear at the top so when you click it it directs you to that post

quote the member you would like to quote and then when you post, you can go inside their quote and erase what you don't wat included...but make sure that the [/QUOTE] remains at the beginning and end of their quote as I just did with yours
