At least it wasn't ants or wasps. Had shells left from freshly hatched babies. I don't have a sense of smell but Henry said it really stank. See part of a permanent pigtail hook up.

No offence, but that's a nasty "nest" of wires in that clock, I use wire ties

Not me. This is low budget system on historic Swiss Ave. Really neat street with old balcony style houses. Been taken over by young families who have no clue how expensive maintaining older homes with large lots are. This system needs a major makeover but this couple is trying to have fancy cars, a non working mother, redoing the inside. He is having to work from 7am til 7pm. I took one look at the pine deck recently installed and knew immediately they were in over their heads money wise. I never understand why people put themselves in a position where they become house poor. I could easily afford double the house I have but so what. I'm happy. Great neighbors. Solid middle class folks. Dogs have a nice backyard. Don't have to own a mercedes. Can spend my money on silly things like soil moisture sensors, fancy smokers for my brisket cooking, and good beer.

Ditto. How much space do you really need anyhow? Enough for a bed, and recliner, and a refrigerator full of beer. :clapping: :clapping:

sadly not every home owner wants the local TMC to spend time on such matters.

I would almost lay last weeks pay check on the fact that Pete did not install that...also looks like there were some after thoughts on that system.

Agreed..but if you are going to take over a site for long term service,
the wiring should be re done to YOUR specs, so when troubleshooting
time comes, it's not the wirings fault. How you doin' Eddie?

I totally agree..When its a slow day blowing out systems.Or if im taking what we call a ":porking" on a turn on I do some of these small things to make my job better. So Mike I agree with you that yes, its sloppy, but if Pete is charging 85 dollars(or what ever) for a service call I'm sure the homeowners want him in and out.I take the liberty to do small things like this..Sometimes its rewire the manifold from cheap nuts to KING nuts, or dig out a valve box engulfed in dirt from ants or rodents.Sometimes I even Take a turf saw and cut around the sprinks so the next year when turn on time comes all heads can be located with ease. And sometimes i do nothing cause its the end of the day and im wet, tired, and in need of a cerveca.

So yes, I agree BUT, you cant win all the battles all the time.

On a side-note I'm doing great...Talked it out with my boss about work..blah blah he is a changed man.....I honestly could care less. I told my boss i will be sending myself to rainbird academy this year. That put a huge hair across his @$$. He only wanted to send me to 2 classes, I of course want to go to 5.

Also i tried to grammar and spell check...

We've only done about 12 so far. But this week is still fairly full. It is tough to get people to do this early, and I do understand it. But some may cry when things break and flood the basement.

I've been with the same girl for 17 years, since I was 19. Good luck choosing!! :)

I'll offer you a bedroom at my place if you so choose. Or if you wanted to rent a house or apt for a couple months, there are plenty around. Expect 1k/month at least for those.

My hurdle is my commitment, I currently have two, one to the biz and one to "The Man," local government! Gotta go eventually, the question is, when will I have the ballz to do it!

How does colonel Drunky Pants pay you up there? By the job or by the hour?

Probably he talks about Kingston Jamaica, a place no one wants to go to. The police dept there is basically just another of the warlord gangs. Shootings on a daily basis.

Now,.... MoBay (Montego Bay) or Negril in Jamaica .... there are two great places to go on "island time". Worlds different than Kingston. I've gone to MoBay every winter for 8 to 10 nites for the last 9 years. Too bad it is very difficult to get a work permit as an outsider from another country.

Ya mon, respect.
