Most of those bags you buy at the big box stores are .5 cu ft. You need 14.875 cu. ft or 1.6 cu yds. go buy it in bulk if you can. Otherwise it looks as if you need 30 bags.

Correction. Bad math I meant .5 yards

buy in bulk if you can. a half yard of bulk topsoil costs 6-8 dollars where I am. I would imagine you would spend well over $50 buying in bags.

That's Tru. Dump it in the truck, takes 10 mins to unload. Cost maybe $15 because its such a small amount.

A cu yd is 27 cu ft. 14.875 cu ft equals about .55 cu yds and round up a smidge to have a little extra and you are around 5/8 (.625)(16.875 cu ft) of a cu yd like the first answer. Most bagged materials at garden centers are 1.5-3 cu ft, so if the bag size 2 cu ft divide that into 16.875 and you end up buying 9 bags. If you go by the exact calculations 8 bags would cover it but an extra trip to the store for 1 bag if you need it is a ridiculous time waster.
