View Full Version : Harley Rake

I was thinking of using a Harley Rake to work up about 1 1/2 acres of area that was excavated/compacted for a newly built home. There is one area that was a pond of sorts that always had standing water/cat tails, etc. It has since been drained, but wondering if the Harley rake would work in this area, or should a more traditional tined drag rake be used.

The harley rake is an excellent tool. I'm learning how to use mine and what it's limitations are. It will not chop up or bury weeds like a plow or disc does. You might want to mow the weeds/cattails down as low as possible and then go to it. Can you post a pic of the area? Also before and after pics would be great as well!

Harley rakes are best for fluffing up the soil for seed prep and wind rowing stones.
