We are going to have sides put on for this winter. We haul our ATV and snow throwers with it.

We will be putting angle iron to build up and then wrapping with steel mesh like what is on the gate.

Most importantly is that once the sides are put on we can install gate assists...that door is pretty heavy.

you should be able to put the gate assists on now, are you going to make it so the side are removable?, that'll add a lot of weight for when not needing. I would consider moving the lights up, they tend to get broken down there.

I like your new dump btw.

Cant quite tell, but looks like a Jersey plate on the trailer? I see NY on the truck.

you see right. We never put our plate on. We just took that one off and have the new plate in the truck. We bought this trailer last year when we returned our 12' enclosed trailer. The salesman left that NJ plate on the trailer and we have stored the trailer in our yard since we brought it back. After the work is completed on the trailer we will have our plate put on.

Cool, I was just curious about the plate, b/c lots of guys run Maine plates around here. It is quite a bit cheaper to register in Maine, than NY. I was baffled, b/c I was quite sure it WOULDNT be cheaper in NJ.

3100 holy hell, my 14 footer was only 1400 with brakes and breakaway system. Im suprised you didnt use plywood, or sheet metal, do keep snow out, could have a top on it then

Yes that is really expensive. I like the high sides and compact size, what is it 6'x12'?

WOW!!! sorry about that. We had a 6x10 enclosed that we traded in and bought the open one you see. The enclosed was $3100. This open trailer was $1600.

That trailer looks real good but I got one question for ya: Why did you want to raise the sides up? I'm not bashing it or anything I just didn't see in the post why you wanted it. I don't see too many trailers with the raised sides like that around here and was just wondering what the advantage is.

Everyone has sides like that here. The four foot sides are nice because when your mowing you can put locks on the gate and your stuff is safe. Also everyone here uses their trailer for alot more than just maintenence. With high sides you can haul mulch, rock, plants, etc. GOOD CHOICE WITH THE SIDES

The sides make it so noone can just lift your equipment up over the lower sides and run off with it.

I actually used the trailer today and without the high sides I would have been screwed. Both of my dump trucks have there salt spreaders in them already and I had to do some leaf clean-up. So I layed out a tarp and its a perfect trailer to load with leaves. Then when I need to empty it I just have to pull on the tarp.

That trailer looks nice....You should put a roller tarp up front to easily cover your load if you had to.

I hadn't thought of that. We were gonna just lay a tarp over the top and bungie it down but the roller is a great idea.
