How big or how small??

Hello, i'm new to this site and just want to say how helpful this site looks. I am 21 years old and have been landscaping since i was 13 and plowing since i was 15. This up coming spring i plan on starting my own landscaping buisness but have a few questions or doubts. My first problem is the size, what i mean is how many accounts for maintaince do you think i should take on my first season?? I have worked for a companie where we (3 man crew) easily did 100-120 residential lawns a week. Is this a good goal for my self?? or would that be going too big too quick?? I plan on basing my buisness on the maintaince part because the work is more reliable that hardscape. i plan on employing two full time employees and i understand long hours. Also i was wandering what process and what costs would it take to register this company legally.

Congratulations on starting a company. My advice is to not hire employees until you have plenty of steady work. The last thing that you want to do is have employees and not have enough work for them. For a solo operation I would say you could have as many contracts as you can handle. It all depends on other work that you may have ie: hedge trimming, fertilization,mulch, cleanups,etc. Good luck.
