Fertilizer for Juniper Shrubs?

Do you guys have any recommendations for fertilizing Shrubs, small decorative trees, etc.?

I usually apply about 3# of N/1000 sq ft/yr. Not much different than a lawn really. If you use faster release formulations then you want to apply them multiple times at lower rates. I typically use Ureaformaldehyde formulations which are more expensive but I can apply most or all of it at one time. Milorganite is also a good fertilizer but you have to apply a lot more #/app.

I also avoid 16-16-16 and those kinds of ferts because our soils are usually pretty high in P to begin with. Check what your ag extensions recommends for your area.
