Quick discs seem to be out of favor. Do you guys use wire nuts, elec. tape, or soldering methods. If so, please explain. Thanks.

Do a search of connection methods and you will get all of the information you could possibly want on this subject.

There are a lot of ways to do this. Make sure whatever you do you grease the connection with a good Di Electric compound. Silicone only protects against mosture not oxygen. Oxygen is what causes corrosion along with the moisture and minerals. Seal your connections or make sure that your connection has enough compound that it will be protected. Never bury a connection by itself int he dirt. Put it in a Valve box or some sort of junction box so that you always know where your connections are. A connection is usually the first failure point of any ligthing system. You do not want your wire to wick!! Check out our Hub connectors that have everything you need including inline fuse protection!

This has been discussed to death. not all folks agree. I am a grease wire nut guy, there are a few of us left, but most folks have went to newer higher tech connectors that are a bit more expensive but appear to work quite well. Although grease wire nuts have worked fine ( installed properly ) for 35 years or so, the new connectors sure look cool. I'm pretty much against any connector that pierces wire rather than wraps bare wire. good luck.
