What factors do I need to take into account when trying to determine the value of my business to sell?
Does anyone have personal experience in selling a business? If so, what did you learn from it and would do differently?

Lots of factors to consider Lori...
1. Equipment value (trucks, trailers, mowers, etc.)
2. Longevity of your business
3. Last 3 years Schedule C and/or Profit & Loss Statements
4. Retained earnings and net profit
5. Employee base (# of them and years with the business)
6. Number of clients and retention (forget contracts, they mean squat)
7. Diversity of your business (services offered)
Many more I am sure...
