Anyone have information on what the compression should be per cylinder on a Dodge 360? I found one used for my plow truck and want to check it out before hand. Thanks, Darin

Minimum compression 100 psi (engine warm spark plugs removed and wide open throttle)

Maximum variation per cylinder 40 psi.

May I ask what the FSM is, and is it online? Many years ago I raced and built my own engines - 40 pound variation sounds absolutely awful, like a real smoker.

a compression test is an ok way of telling and engines cond. but a leak down test is alot better. the above post says 100 psi with a maxium spread of 40 psi. i say he is in the ball park , but it should be around 115 to 120 with no more than 20 psi. spread.
