It was a huge place, tall ceilings..had one of those monster steak dinners where if
you could finish the meal you got it free.

in college we were in a kansas city for a marketing competition and a gentleman who runs an agency took my group out to a steakhouse... talk about fresh killed cow. KC has the beef.

I remember all those billboards for The Big Texan restaurant in Amarillo, where the 72-ounce steak was free for those who finished it all. Never was tempted to try it. I like a dry-aged steak, if I'm going to be a glutton.

Isn't there a dry-aged steak house in NY that's been there for ever in the same family ownership?

I never dined at Peter Luger, doing mostly the Theater District circuit, or something near the music. Brooklyn is a bit out of the way (but cabs are always at the ready)
