Salt-Rich Environments and its Toll

I hang lights on the east coast of Florida and we get a huge ocean breeze durring the winter and am curious as to what some of the manufacturers use in their production that would and could hurt or help for their products to stand up to harsh, salty environments.

For instance, Chromse Bulb Bases (Chrome pits from salt and after storing in an attic, will the bases be ruined? Compared to what the "WalMart type lights use on theirs, Chrome might be a better opeion).

Wreaths/Garland who use Stainless or Galvanized as opposed to un-treated steel and iron.

I suppose if you could find a way to keep the salt water from entering the socket. Cheaply, you would have a good market for your product. I have one! Use rubber gasket collar around base of bulb. So when you screw in light on strand, the rubber keeps the water out! Hummmmmmm! Good luck! Keep it! I have plenty more.

It's more the salt air than water- although that is still a great idea and would work if I could get it to match up perfectly. Thanks
