how do you wire the trailer battery to be charging while the truck is running?

Are you adding a trailer battery to your trailer? More information please because if you bought the trailer and a battery came with it then it should be wired to charge when the plug is in the truck.

its a dump trailer with a battery. can someone explane the wireing from the truck to the battery on the trailer. is there a diagram somewhere?

Google the pinout for the 7 pin hookup. One of the wires should be for charging the battery.

ok what brand of truck are you running. If it is a ford the wire on the truck side is orange. i will try and post the plug layout.
