Just got a call from our courthouse asking us to cut once more (contract ended oct. 31) and to cut at 1.5" or 2". Guy said he was going to overseed it. Does this help at all? I have never heard of this before. Any help will be appreciated.

Well, if he is going to slitseed it, it will give him much less debris left at the top - so he will have less to clean up or to clump up. If he is going to aerate, it will give him cleaner and easier penetration. If it was earlier in the season when the most optimum time for seeding is, an advantage to cutting and keeping it shorter allows more sunlight to aid in germination. This however, is irrelevant since germination is not really an issue, here. He should be hoping that NO seed germinates as it is this late in the season.

If you have fescue grass, mowing short will damage(kill) it. If you have weeds, mowing short is great
