Just wondering you guys paid for your dump trailers. I looking at a ezdumper or brimar low profile hd in a 10ft or 12ft with a 10k or 12k gvw. These are the heavier trailers with the dual pistons and beefer frames not the cheaper models. I looked at one today and it was a 12ft 10k gvw for $6200 and a 14ft 12k gvw for $7200. Both had options like 12k drop leg, combo gate, spare tire and ramps. Also anyone know if you need a cdl in nj for a trailer over 10k gvwr, because I can't get a straight answer. Dmv said no but the lady looked at me like I was from space when I asked her.

I have a 12,000 lb. Bri-Mar, LPHD, 12 ft..... I paid $7560 I think.....tax included. It was a pretty good deal, I thought. Had to drive a bit to get it!
About the CDL thing (and I'm sure your State is the same as here since they've federalized most of this stuff...) - If your truck is say, a 2500 Chevy, you do not need a CDL. If your truck and trailer combo pushes over 26,000 provided THE TRAILER IS OVER 10,000 LBS, you need one.
For example, I have a F-550 (19000) and the dump trailer (12000)= 31000 GCWR....I need a CDL to use them together.

Thanks, I though the price was about right. I looked at alot of trailers but some of the cheaper ones you get what you pay for the frames are smaller and thinner steel. I really like 12ft or 14ft bri-mar LPHD and the ezdumper 12 ft commercial model. I won't be over 26,000 lbs combined, the truck is a f-350 and it's 11,400 gvw so even with a 14,000 lbs trailer I'll still be under.
