We all have to fish a drain now and then for access. What is your technique?

I generally use a fish tape.

If that doesn't work, and I need a more rigid apparatus to fish a wire, then I will make use of a number of fiberglass chimney sweep poles that can be assembled end to end to form a long, flexible yet rigid pole. This works really well for getting under and behind granite risers and large flag stones used in our pathways here.

Have a great day.

Fish tape. If the bend is too hard I just unscrew the downspout and push it the rest of the way through.

fiberglass duct rod or fish tape... the fiberglass ones dont hang up or coil like a metal fish tape does. Smoooooth as a babys butt especially in conduits with multiple wires.

Silly boys, this is what you need. It's a fiberglass rod, with threaded ends..so you can piggy back them together and have a long reach. There are several ends to help pull those wires where you need them. They even make a Glow In The Dark model to work at night! Made by Greenlee.

Not much I like better then great tools... and these Greenlee products are really cool. But, for MUCH less money, the fiberglass chimney sweep rods are pretty much identical, and you simply have to attach a hook on the end.

Perhaps I will put the Greenlee product on my Christmas Wish List!

Have a great day.
