2007 was my first year doing this (parttime) and it went well. I am planning for 2008 but I wanted some advice from some guys that have been in the business for a while. If I do this next year I have to be legit, I'm thinking of forming a LLC to protect my personnel assets and get insurance.
Is this the best way to go about it and is it worth the trouble for a part time business.

s-corp to protect personal liability and keep from paying double taxes or self-employment tax.

Do a LLC with an S-corp designation. It seems to the best of all worlds.

Just do like the rest of the part timers and do it with out work comp, liability ins, no city license and by all means don't pay taxes. If you do it like that you can continue to work cheap.
