I received a call today from long time family friend who finds vehicles for less.
This truck has 318 v8 motor, plenty of power, and decent transmission. Is it worth $1,200 not sure on the miles yet here's some pics...

If its in decent shape mechanically, for sure!

Looks a little beaten around the edges, but if it runs well $1200 is a great price for it.

NO!!! ha! if it runs good, and is sound, sure, just about anything is worth 1200 bucks. (notice i said "just about" everyone)

If it lasts you only a season with minimal work (it WILL need some work), its a great investment. It could be a bucket of problems on the other hand. More likely the latter than the former.

I don't know what idea you are kicking around but it didn't take me long to learn, regardless, you spend the money and get a tool worthy of the job. That tool will pay for itself, make you money, save you money and save you dissappointment.

The miles on the truck is 178,500. It has no heater (blower burned out)
exhaust completely rusted away it's loud...
The shifter link is broken so it has to be started in neutral ....
I decided on not getting it cause just those problems alone will cost me $700
and the truck owner won't let me take it on a real road test ...
That truck I'd give $500 for I'm sure there's more problems then just the obvious ....

I would be a bit leary of th miles but not totally turned away. I had an 89 dakota with a v6. Bought it for $800 w/ 189k, sold it 3 years later with over 230k on it still going strong.
