i didnt, but i think the guy before me added a few leafs to it, he was planning to pull a fifth wheel with it. When it has a trailer hooked to it it levels out perfect.
im so happy to have this truck back after driving the dodger for a week, that truck burns a gallon of oil a day!! thats 50 bucks in oil a week! i could have a new truck for the price of oil.

haha thats a good idea, cops around here are pricks and will really bust your balls for tint, you either get it towed home or peel it off right there on the spot.
thats why i always stay 50% on the side two and go dark as hell on everything behind me and above the AS1 line.
anyways that is one great lookin truck, they did an amazing job! we want to get our cherry red dump painted royal red to match our other two trucks but will prolly get an economy job on it as its getting up there.
at least our new ford matches the met. charcoal on the front half of our trailers.

I had my Eye doc write me a medical excuse for tint. I have 5 on the front two windows, 5 over 20 on the back sides and back glass, 50 on the whole windshield and a 8 inch strip of 5 across the top of the windshield. I'm not sure, even though its your mom, if she would even have the authority to write a medical excuse.

The state cop started laughin at me when I got out my doctors note for window tint....guess nowadays here you have to have your doc go to court, sign off on a bunch of stuff, then get a permit. It was a $75 ticket or use a razor blade and F the livin mess out of my windows so I laughed right back at him and took the ticket. Its only the state boys that notice around here. Getting 5% on the new cummins here when I get back from fishin this weekend.

Cops won't pull you over just for tint here, there has to be another reason for them to be pulling you over and then the tint is a secondary. I've only had one cop say something about it to me and I forgot it the excuse at home and one just told me to make sure I kept it with me.

nice truck man, good workhorse! whats up with the front clip? what kind of custom trailer you gonna get for it? lawn care or mixed use?
The trailer is going to be for mulch and light landscape work. The front potion will be enclosed with a ramp door on the curb side so the zahn can get in it. The back will be a open cargo area with 4 foot side walls to haul mulch, trees, dirt what have you. It will have a fold down rear gate. This way I can load up 20 yrds of mulch and take it and all the tools with me at once instead of waiting for a another dump truck to drop it off. It will also save me time not having to clean the street. If I need 18 yards then I take 2 yrds home with me no big deal. As of now we have to waste any extra because I don't want to put it in the enclosed trailer.
I hate packing tools up in the morning and taking them inside at night. Then we always forget something. The enclosed part will hold the zahn and any and all tools we would ever need. We just start up and go in the a.m and I know every thing is on board.

Picasso theres some lawn care business in Birch Run that uses a really neat setup, no trailers. They have a Kodiak with a really long flatbed chassis and they use side ramps for loading their mowers and have brackets for holding all their trimmers and blowers but on the very back of the truck is a very small dump box for the grass clippings. Its so cool!
Maybe it'll give you some inspiration for your Kodiak!

Picasso,
I have a question about the Bradco root grapple. I'm in the same boat you were. I like the eagle talon and the bradco root grapple. I've only owned one other root rake it was a HLA/hurst Root rake. it was made from AR400 steel and I bent the piss out of all the tines. I read you had bent one of the tines on the bradco. If you don't mind me asking how? and did you straighten it or leave it. Just from viewing picture the Quick Attachment Eagle talon looks like it's reinforced a little bit more. If you had to buy another one would you stick with the bradco?

i also had to order a new pump and motor for the dump. The bed would go up but not down, all the pins are clean and greased but it still wouldnt go unless i pushed it down with a machine or pulled it with a ratchet strap. I noticed the cylinder had a fitting on the top of it and a line had been cut off. So i hooked the hose up to it and hit the switch and its a power down cylinder. It had a power up/gravity down pump on it so i ordered a power up power down and a new controller.

We still have over 1,000 yards of mulch on the books to put down.
And the BEST FRICKEN NEWS IN A LONG TIME!!!!................. i found a great worker!!! this guy works so insane hard every day of the week i cant believe it!! Three guys so far left the walk behinds with a tear on their cheek this guy had it mastered in 1 minute, straight lines, never will stand around, eats lunch while he works. I was a few minutes late getting to the shop today and this guy is weed whipping around the barn and some old trucks. Any other guy would have sat around for five minutes.

3500 sounds about right, maybe a lil less since your keeping the subframe and hoist/pump system.
i need to find a new truck to tow the mowing trailer. too much grass for a 6.5' bed p/u. id like a gm 1 ton dump with diesel. that would be a perfect compliment for the 550 we are looking to get as well.
so that brings me to ask you, where did you find your 450?

I didn't see a crack in the frame. I will have to look closer but I'm 99 percent sure there isn't one. I would have seen it.

the ford might get a salter. more then likely not though. All my trucks get subbed for plowing only and i like it that way so far.
If i do a smaller logo on the chevy it will be on the front part of the bed or a big one will be half on the door half on the bed. The tailgate will get something for sure.

Since I first got into biz I have never relied on snow money to make payments or buy equipment. All summer long I work to double up payments on everything from the phone to insurance to the deere. This way when winter comes I'm not stressed out and biting my nails for snow. This year being all set up with a nice heated and fully equipped shop I should be ready for snow early, as soon as the leaves stop falling I'm putting plows on and checking up on things. Last year I was literally putting two plows on as the snow was falling. Not the right way to be doing things.

Well first my name isn't "junior". Second after reading your reply you obviously must be a maintenance guy and hardly do any installs. If you did do installs on a daily basis you would find an excavator a NECESSITY. And paying an upwards of $1500wk (atleast here that's going rate) an excavator payment for your OWN machine starts to pencil out.
So why don't you keep cutting grass and leave the real work for the big boys. And like picasso said stop trashin his tread just because of your jealousy.

if you cant justify owning a excavator yet some thing is wrong. Every single job i do needs a excavator on it for some amount of time. Man junior I feel ya, you just have to make a evening or two a week. What a stress relief it is just to sit up in the stand.
I found the deer, it made it about 25 yards and died right in the river. Had to get the zahn to pull it up and out and carry it home. I got lucky on the shot though, I havnt shot with broadheads yet so I was shooting with my pins set to field points. Like most broadheads it flew high to the right and smacked a hole right through the liver.
Tomorrow I'm going to switch over to all blades and tune it in nice and good. I'm not happy with anything other then heart or lung shots.
Ron, got the excavator back late last night and worked it until about 2 in the am. Smells like a breath mint now. They stripped the whole interior down. New seat, new insulation, new sound dampening, replaced the broken panels. They did a top not job. Now I don't have that stupid purple hitachi seat.

Tracks are right around 4,000 for the set of 4 maybe a few bucks less.
I will upload a picture of the deer in the bucket of the zahn tonight. The season starts on friday so I'm trying to get all the lawns mowed so I can take friday off and just have my worker do 10 himself. I have a killer 80 acre farm chucked fUuuuuuullll of big bucks to hunt.

Just dropped a doe in her tracks. Called her in with a fawn bleat. Then 5 min later a bruiser 8 came walking across the field but didn't come in. Can't decide if I should call it a night and go clean her while I still have light left or wait it out and stick 2.....

I doubt anything comes in with a dead doe in the area...they can smell that.

You would be suprised. A couple years ago my dad shot a nice 8 point in the morning (around 9:30) then after lunch the same day i shot a 9 point out of the same stand. The gut pile from his deer was like 30 yards from where my deer came over the hill at me. There was really no wind.

What do you guys do in tyron for leaves? You don't charge extra to grind them up do you? I know you guys to bag them. I'm about sick of being a leaf grinder for free in that place. I'm thinking about putting a rule in place that says I will double cut and that's it. Pay me to bag them up or look at them. People think I have time to just go round and round 20 times and grind them.....ya no thanks. Who do you use to vac the jobs you do do? What is the rate? My 18hp vac is about useless and I don't wana shell out 10k on a real machine.

Well today I was driving through Fenton and over by the Plaza with Sagebrush Cantina I saw this Big Green F450 crew cab pulling this huge Green enclosed trailer with a big yellow badge on it that said in big black letters PICASSO SERVICES. Also on site was this John Deere CT332 CTL with a yellow painted roof.
I swear I've seen both before somewhere, possibly on the internet.
Hmmmmmmmmm..............nope! Doesn't ring a bell.

Are you trying to upload like 8 at a time? I've found it doesn't let you upload that many at a time, even those theres 8 upload things. Try uploading only 5 at once.

Try photobucket.com. You can even load pictures directly to that from your phone, then you can get on your computer, click on the correct link from photobucket, and paste on here. Its a lot easier then resizing everything and then uploading a few at a time.
